Fasting Reflection by Ana B.

 This 65 hrs of fasting were hard but I was determined to accomplish this for a good cause, The DREAM Act. I did this because I want to show Senator Hagan that I have a dream which  is to go to college just how any documented student does and to get the same opportunities as them. Feeling hunger reminded me of the hunger I have of going to a University of my choice,  being able to get the career I want, and getting financial help. By looking at the people around me eat and me not being able to, reminded me of the documented students talking about the Universtity they will be attending and its the one they want to attend and I hear them talk about the scholarships they are applying for or the scholorships the have recieved, but I am not able to talk about all this because I do not have the same opportunities they have. I hope fasting showed that I really WANT and NEED The DREAM Act. Not just for me, but also the many undocumented students that have dreams, goals, and want to accomplish a lot throughout their lives. --Ana B.
